I spent decades as a trauma nurse. I loved the work and the people, but that kind of job takes something out of you over time. I needed a place to put it down for a while.

I found that place in a Bob Ross painting class.

I walked in not knowing what to expect and walked out with a painting I actually loved. More than that, I walked out feeling like myself again. That was over ten years ago and it changed everything.

I became a Certified Bob Ross Instructor and a Certified Bob Ross Floral Instructor because I wanted other people to feel what I felt that day. Especially beginners. Especially people who swear they have no artistic ability. Those are my favorite students. They always surprise themselves.

My husband Wayne knew how much this meant to me. He built me a studio right here at home, and that’s where the magic happens now. Easels set up, paints ready, paintings covering every wall and yes, parts of the ceiling too.

This studio isn’t just mine. Wayne helped build it for all of us.
